Position Description
Cafe Cultura is seeking a Development Assistant to provide assistance in coordinating activities that will lead to the growth and development of our organization. This includes assisting the Executive Director in the following areas:

 

Organizational Development:
-monitoring and initiating progress of organization's strategic plan

 

Fundraising:
-planning and implementing fundraising events/campaigns
-writing appeals and arranging donations
-generating thank you letters and maintaining donor database

 

Governance:
-board engagement and development

 

Qualifications:
-Excellent writing skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
-Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
-Self-starter with initiative
-Passion for our mission

 

Cafe Cultura will offer the following:
-Orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation
-Mentoring
-Experience in building a nonprofit organization
-Access to all facets of fundraising and development

Cafe Cultura is seeking a Program Assistant to provide assistance in coordinating programs. This includes assisting the Executive Director in the following areas:

 

Events
-planning and coordinating events
-recruiting and managing volunteers

 

Workshops
-maintaining contact list of teachers and/or youth advocates in local schools and organizations
-informing contacts of our Basic Xpress Yourself workshops
-coordinating and facilitating spoken word workshops
-assisting workshop participants in writing and sharing poems

 

Youth Leadership Program
-planning and coordinating Words to Action Youth Leadership Program (summer)
-involving youth participants in regular functioning of organization

 

Qualifications:
-Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
-Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
-Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
-Self-starter with initiative
-Passion for our mission

Position Description
Cafe Cultura is seeking a Communications Assistant to provide assistance in coordinating effective and efficient communication within the organization as well as with the community. This includes assisting the Director in the following areas:

 

Communication
-developing and maintaining internal communications among Staff, Board of Directors, Collective/Advisory Board, and other stakeholders.

 

Promotion
-coordinating promotion of events and workshops
-writing and circulating press releases to media outlets and the larger community
-updating social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram)

 

Documentation
-coordinating photography of programs through all phases (taking, editing, and uploading photos to Flickr and Instagram)
-organizing video production including live broadcasting of events

 

Qualifications:
-Excellent writing skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
-Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
